We were surprised by the Palestinian results, and realized that the form of the election without runoffs worked to allow the most radical party to win. <br /><br />The energy of the new Egypt will not be used for creating a prosperous free enterprise economy. Radical ideologies which ignore prosperity have little hope of achieving it, and so they will not become very powerful. They are self-limiting disease. <br /><br />The new radical regime is going to have a permanent state of conflict with the demonstrators.
